A WORK of Art for your floor

A couple of weeks ago, Philippa and I showed up to a client's house with an old school briefcase.  Remember those kind?  The ones with the number codes?  I'm sure they are a classic for many, but we had a good giggle about it because we felt like traveling salesmen.

The briefcase was actually a pom box from our lovely vendor, Julie Dasher Rugs, filled with colors to choose from for custom area rugs.  We're thrilled to share Julie Dasher Rugs with our clients not only because they provide such a wonderful, quality product, but also because Julie Dasher Rugs is a Goodweave-licensed importer. This means that they donate a percentage of their profits to help Goodweave Foundation in their efforts to prevent child-labor in the rug making industry.  The donation also helps the children of Nepal and India through education and other social services (read more about Goodweave here).  Awesome!

The custom rug process begins by selecting from one of the 350+ patterns offered by Julie Dasher Rugs. Look at some of these amazing patterns:

Once you've selected your pattern and your fiber (wool, silk, other natural fibers), you can choose up to five colors for the piece.  Love the design and soft neutral colors our client selected!

We were happy with the computer renderings Julie provided with the colors we selected, so now we've requested a strike-off, a small one foot by one foot sample of the actual rug with the selected colors.   We can't wait to see it!  Check back soon for updates!

Meanwhile, check out this amazing video produced by Julie Dasher Rugs:
