Weekend DIY: Stencil it!

Andrea MaaseideComment

You know how much we love wallpaper and the way it can transform a space.  But let's face it... wallpaper can be prohibitively expensive.  A close friend recently purchased a house and while she really wanted to use Kelly Wearstler's Imperial Trellis, but it just wasn't in her budget.

But guess what... there's a great company that we found, Cutting Edge Stencils, and with a little paint and lots of patience, you can get the Kelly Wearstler look at a fraction of the price.

Isn't this incredible?    And the cool thing is that your color choices are unlimited!  "Trellis Allover Stencil" {Via Cutting Edge Stencils}

This Galbraith and Paul Fern wallpaper is gorgeous...and pricey.

Cutting Edge Stencils offers this great alternative.

Cutting Edge Stencils has the "Zamira" allover stencil. Pretty close!

My friend ended up going with a trellis design like this one:

She commandeered her sister in law to help. She advised me that it did take two people. Another bit of advice from her...don't drink wine while stenciling. Hours later the trellis started to shift and they ended up having to redo parts.

Have a great weekend everyone!
