ARTIST FAVE: Good Enough to Eat

Andrea MaaseideComment

I'm sure many of you know the paintings of Wayne Thiebaud, an American artist know for his beautiful depictions of everyday objects, including food.  Donuts, ice cream, gum balls... you name it, this guy painted it.

I love how thick the oil paint is here... such a great texture.  Wayne Thiebaud, "Donuts"

I would love to have one of these pieces hanging somewhere in my house, but a Thiebaud painting is not exactly in our budget.

While I was scouring Etsy for art and accessories for a client, I came across the artwork of Joel Penkman, an artist out of Liverpool, England. So similar in style to Thiebaud, but his giclees and even some of his originals are much more budget friendly.

This jam tart painting is so cute!
