Checking out Charleston

Andrea MaaseideComment

This past Saturday, after some accessory shopping on speed, my in-laws and I were able to spend some time roaming the streets of Charleston, SC. Most people have heard of the Charleston Battery and it is unquestionably beautiful.

But I enjoyed roaming the side streets more.  Charleston is filled with history, culture, and charming flora and fauna lined alleyways.

A little alleyway right off of East Bay St. in downtown Charleston.

We capped off our visit with a dinner at McCrady's Restaurant, a notable Charleston establishment, which started out as a tavern back in 1778 and is steeped in history.

The restaurant is committed to "peak-season and sustainable ingredients, sourcing from the restaurant's rooftop garden and Lowcountry farmers, artisans, and fisherman."  The menu, which changes daily, provides a mouthwatering selection of dishes.  The food was INCREDIBLE and the presentation was stunning.  The service was impeccable, including our waiter Michael and our lovely sommelier, Garth.  I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Charleston!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
