Slettvoll... NorwEGIAN INSPIRation

Andrea MaaseideComment

Summer flew by and admittedly we were gone for more than a week... The weeks just got away from us.  Lots of travel and great projects in the works kept us away from the blog world, but we're back!  I thought I'd start by sharing some photos chock full of inspiration from this fabulous furniture store I visited while in Norway, Slettvoll.   A bit of a Restoration Hardware vibe, but even better, in my opinion.  It's a mix of rustic and sleek contemporary.  Lots of textures, neutrals, natural materials... it's perfect!

Layer and layers of neutrals.  I want to jump in to that bed!  The photography vignette on the wall is super cool.  I know there's debate over whether gallery walls are still in, but I happen to love them.  Not a lot of color in the store, but this seems typical of Norwegian interior design (see my Norway post)

This large scale task lamp was just too cool and talk about classic Norwegian.. those horns wrapped around the glass hurricane.  And hydrangeas seem to abound in Norway in the summertime.

Isn't this a great idea?  These floor mirrors behind the sofa?  What a great way to open up a space.  And also, it's versatile.  You're not attaching anything to the wall, so you can rearrange as much as you want (which I am known to do).  I also love the cluster in pendants in the corner rather than a typical floor or table lamp.

So not everything Slettvoll has is dark, but this is just the collection I happened to see in the store in Alesund.  Slettvoll's catalogue pages are light filled and gorgeous.

 The large scale sofas are so inviting and I love how cozy the space is even without a ton of color.  That painting is fab too... totally squeezed in to that space, but it works! {Via Slettvoll}

The juxtaposition between  these relaxed slipcovered chairs and the stunning chandelier lets each element shine.   {Via Slettvoll}

So my kids would destroy these dining chairs in 5 minutes flat, but one can always dream.  This is almost California in it's vibe, but as I learned this summer, perfect for a Summer Cabin in Norway.  {Via Pinterest}
